Food supplement in the form of a soft capsule containing oil extracted from wild Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba), fished from clear Antarctic waters. Rich in choline and omega-3 fatty acids in the form of phospholipids.
Do you want to take comprehensive care of your body? Are you looking for an effective way to improve the condition of your heart and liver? Or do you want to take care of proper fat metabolism? Krill oil will take care of your body in multiple ways. Find out how you can benefit from taking Super Krill Oil 1180 mg.
There is no doubt that krill oil offers a range of health benefits, with heart and liver health at the top of that list. This is all due to the unique nutrients that this valuable oil provides: the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA and choline, in the form of highly bioavailable phospholipids [1]. This natural complex acts as a multi-nutrient supplement, supporting the heart, brain, joints, liver, skin and much more. DHA and EPA acids contribute to the proper functioning of the heart, while DHA contributes to optimal brain function and the maintenance of good vision. Choline, meanwhile, supports liver function and contributes to normal homocysteine and fat metabolism. Choline also plays an important role in signalling in cell membranes and in early brain development [2]. Choline in krill oil is found in the natural form of phosphatidylcholine – the form found in food – making it easy to meet the daily requirement for this nutrient.
Super Krill Oil 1180 mg contains SUPERBA Boost® krill oil, the effects of which are supported by several clinical studies. Krill oil intake has been shown to increase blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids in as little as 30 days [3], and has also been shown to lower triglyceride levels [4,5] and increase blood levels of so-called good HDL cholesterol [6] , which reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. In vivo studies have also shown the positive effects of krill oil on liver health. It supports liver function by reducing fat accumulation and contributes to proper fat metabolism. In addition, krill oil supplementation contributes to an increase in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and oxylipins in adipose tissue and liver, and may also have an effect on alleviating inflammation associated with obesity [7,8].
SUPERBA Boost® krill oil has also been studied for its effect on sports performance. It has been shown to enhance the body’s immune function, which can benefit the performance and recovery of people performing intense exercise [9]. It has also been shown that exercise can significantly reduce choline levels, which in turn contributes to reduced performance. Choline is an extremely important component for the production of sufficient neurotransmitters, which play a key role in muscle function [10]. It is therefore an indispensable component during exercise. Studies also show that krill oil has an effect on cognitive function [11] and a beneficial effect on improving the wellbeing of people with arthritis symptoms [12,13]. A 12-week clinical trial found that SUPERBA Boost® krill oil had an excellent effect on skin condition, increasing skin hydration and elasticity [14].
Deficiency of omega-3 fatty acids can lead to mood disorders [15] and skin deterioration (manifested, among other things, by rough and flaky skin and inflammation). Insufficient omega-3 is also a risk factor for the development of cardiovascular diseases. These acids can be obtained from the diet by eating fatty fish (e.g. salmon, tuna, mackerel). An insufficient supply of choline, on the other hand, can cause liver problems – including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease – and muscle damage. It is worth noting that the body cannot produce enough choline, so it is important to obtain it from the diet. Its sources are mainly animal products (e.g. meat, fish, eggs and milk and milk products), whole grains, nuts, seeds and beans [2]. Supplementation with krill oil, which contains both DHA, EPA and choline, may also be helpful in taking care of the body’s balance.
Super Krill Oil 1180 mg contains krill oil rich in omega-3 EPA and DHA acids, phospholipids and highly bioavailable choline in an easy-to-swallow soft capsule form. The supplement is produced in accordance with the GOED (World EPA and DHA Organisation) monograph. The oil is obtained from wild Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) sourced from pure Antarctic waters – the process uses the patented Eco-Harvesting® sustainable fishing method. SUPERBA Boost® krill oil is also MSC and FOS certified. The recommended daily serving (2 capsules) contains up to 1180 mg of SUPERBA Boost® krill oil, which provides the essential fatty acids EPA (min. 178 mg) and DHA (min. 82 mg) and phospholipids (min. 660 mg) including choline (min. 82.6 mg).
